Resolving Relationship Conflicts: Repairing and Healing Relationships

1 CEU Workshop for PA Psychologists, LPCs, LSWs, LCSWs, & LMFTs.

This workshop will identify common relationship challenges in heteronormative, LGBTQ+, and Black Community relationships, critically examine them, and explore culturally responsive interventions to address them.

1. Identify common relational issues and conflict triggers in relationships.
• Understand key patterns such as poor communication, trust issues, boundary violations, and unmet emotional needs.
• Learn how relational dynamics contribute to the development of recurring conflicts.


2. Examine how relationship conflicts manifest differently within the LGBTQIA+ community.
• Explore the impact of discrimination, identity stress, and societal pressure on relationships.

3. Understand how the Black community experiences relationship conflicts uniquely.
• Explore the role of generational trauma, systemic racism, and cultural expectations on relational challenges.
• Learn about the impact of economic disparities, incarceration rates, and racial stress on intimate relationships.

4. Explore trauma-informed and culturally responsive solutions to support conflict resolution.
• Learn strategies for creating safe, inclusive spaces that honor diverse identities and experiences.
• Identify specific therapeutic approaches to support conflict resolution in marginalized communities.
